Mom’s Apple Pie

Old Fashioned Apple Pie

  • 1 package Pillsbury pie crust
  • 6 C- sliced cooking apples( 2 lbs.) I use Mac’s & Granny smith
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 teas. Cinnamon
  • 2 Tbls. butter
  • 4 Tbls. Flour
  • Dash Salt


Preheat oven 425*

Combine sugar, cinn, flour & salt.  Mix well. (use lots of cinnamon!)

Add apples in large bowl, toss lightly.

Put bottom crust in pie plate.

Mound high in center of pie plate. Dot w/butter.

Put top crust on. Make slits near center for steam vents.

Fold edges of top crust under bottom crust press together w/finger tips. Crimp edges. Cover edges w/foil. <– very important!

Bake 40-50 mins or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.

Cool partially on wire rack, Serve warm. Makes 6-8 servings (yeah right).
