I’ve made this Cinnamon Swirl Latte every. single.day this week. It would be amazing consumed alongside a cinnamon bun or a slice of deep, dark, chocolate cake after dinner.
Or breakfast.
Or lunch.
I feel a bit silly writing this as a recipe as there are only 3 very simple ingredients that I bet most of you (who drink espresso) have in your cupboard already, but the combination is just that good. Also, you don’t need any flavored syrups to make this flavored latte. Love that.
If I do say so myself.
I do say so myself.
Ok wait, maybe it’s a whopping 4 ingredients, if you count cinnamon-sugar as 2 ingredients. Whatever. You probably have some in your cupboard.
Side note: Who are you people buying pre-mixed cinnamon-sugar anyway? Come on folks, it’s cinnamon + sugar mixed in a little bottle and marked up 209458%! It’s not brain surgery to make it yourself. Just pour some sugar into a small container, add a small dash of cinnamon and mix it all up. Done.
Ok, now that my little rant is over, let’s get on with the recipe.
Cinnamon Swirl Latte
- 1 shot brewed espresso
- 1 cup milk (low fat milk froths best, almond and soy milk work fine as well)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon maple syrup (if you’re looking for a sweeter drink)
Pour milk into a large coffee mug. Warm in the microwave on high for 1 minute. Add the cinnamon sugar and froth the milk. Add the maple syrup, if using. Pour in the espresso shot and stir. Serve hot. Makes 1 drink.
