This is a blog about food and cooking. It’s also written by someone who doesn’t eat meat. I don’t want this to be a blog that those who choose to eat meat feel uncomfortable reading, but it’s an important part of who I am as a person, and an even bigger part of who I am in the kitchen.
I like to read. I really like to read about food. Cookbooks, books about farming, books about chefs, and the like are my favorites. I reviewed Animal, Vegetable, Miracle in this post, and I’ve read Michael Pollans books, just to name a few. Those books aren’t written about vegetarianism, but they have all furthered my thinking that eating meat is just not the right thing for me.
Where is this going?
Well, the New York Times has published a number of interesting stories about food lately, and a recent article (that will later be turned into a book ) really hit home with me. The author makes a number of great points about eating animals. I’ll leave you with my favorite one, which I will forever think to myself when I hear people say “I really admire you for not eating meat, but I could never do that!”).
“I love calamari, I love roasted chicken, I love a good steak. But I don’t love them without limit.” -Jonathan Safran Foer, Against Meat
This happens to be a really well written story, so I promise you’ll at the very least get some entertainment out of the article.

What do you think about the article? Does Foer convince you?

Good article, thanks for the link.
